Week 6 KOTS Power Rankings

2017 KOTS Week 6 Power Rankings

Week 5 is now in the books and the race for the Shack Daddy Trophy, in the King Of The Shack Fantasy Football League has never been closer. With very close scores in almost every matchup this weekend, the games are now becoming more and more important with the home stretch looming in the near future. Week 5 saw more injuries, a common theme to the NFL this season as more than a handful of key players were lost due to ACL injuries, broken ankles and broken legs. It will be up to the owners themselves to make the necessary adjustments, find the sleepers still waiting to prove themselves and make a run towards the King Of The Shack Fantasy Football Playoffs. Speaking of injuries, did you know they now sell fantasy football insurance for your players in case they get injured....you've got to be kidding me.

Week 5: Recap Statistics

Most Points Scored: Martellus All About It: 164 total points scored

Least Points Scored: Rudy Was Offsides: 97 total points scored

Largest Margin of Victory: Martellus All About It: +54 points

Smallest Margin of Victory: Team Prime: +2 points

Power Rankings

#1 Silly Nannies (4-1) Last Week: 4 (This Week: I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet)

A new #1 rises to the top of this weeks King Of The Shack Power Rankings for Week 6. Silly Nannies continues his impressive run as he notched his 4th win in a row in dominating fashion over league leader Juan Too Many (4-1). In a final score of 126-110, Silly Nannies was able to rely upon the fire power of Aaron Rodgers (23 points) who led an impressive last minute drive against the Cowboys to bring home the Packers a win. Jake also got a huge performance from Michael Crabtree (20 points) who continues to be a favorite in Oakland with Amari Cooper struggling to produce. With Adrian Peterson (Trade) being sent to Arizona, Silly Nannies may just have gotten the needed boost to rise to dominance in this league. Be on the lookout for Silly Nannies in Week 6, as he faces off against I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (3-2)

#2 Juan Too Many (4-1) Last Week: 1 (This Week: Martellus All About It)

Despite some pretty hefty expectations in Week 5, Juan Too Many's loaded roster could not turn the corner this weekend, ending his 4 game win streak and proving to the league that he is indeed human. Juan Too Many fell short in a close battle with Silly Nannies (4-1) losing by a final score 110-126. With some key players on BYE, Josh looked for his key players to come through with big games, but Tom Brady (13 points) Mike Evans (9 points) and Jordy Nelson (10 points) all were held surprisingly in check leading to the defeat for Juan Too Many. In addition leading TE, Charles Clay (ACL) went down for the year after totaling 56 points over his 5 week tenure this season. This is a huge blow to a Juan Too Many team that took advantage of this position all season long. Josh will look to regroup in Week 6 as he faces off against a dangerous Martellus All About It (2-3) team that will be looking for the upset.

#3 - Team Prime (4-1) Last Week: 3 (This Week: 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One)

By the skin of his teeth, Team Prime does it again with his second victory of 5 points or less in the last two weeks. Now sitting at 4-1 on the season, Team Prime looks poised to make a run at the playoffs, if he can stave off the injury bug. In Week 5, Team Prime defeated I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (3-2) by a final score of 163-161. Team Prime was led to victory due to a little bit of luck, but also from a huge performance from Melvin Gordon (33 points) who rushed for 100+ yards and scored 2 TD's through the air. In addition to this effort Pierre Garcon (17 points) put up a solid losing effort against the Colts has he continues to be the bright spot on a lowly 49ers offense. Unfortunately, Team Prime's championship aspirations took a major hit this season as Odell Beckham Jr. (Ankle) went down for the season, capitalizing on another roller-coaster season for Beckham who now has injury concerns. Team Prime will look to make the necessary adjustments in Week 6 when he faces 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (1-4) who is coming off his first win of the season.

#4 I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (3-2) Last Week: 3 (This Week: Silly Nannies)

I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet drops to the #4 spot in this weeks King Of The Shack Power Rankings, after dropping a close matchup with Team Prime (4-1), but a final score of 161-163. Zac's score would have beaten 9 out of 10 other teams this week, but unfortunately he fell victim to the schedule this weekend and dropped a crucial matchup to Tyler. Tarik Cohen (2 points) killed Zac's chances of winning in Week 5, as truly anything more than his output would have sealed the victory for Zac, but it was not meant to be. In the losing effort, I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet had huge performances from A.J Green (30 points) and Davante Adams (25 points) both whom are beginning to heat up in the receiving field as the season progresses. This is a bright spot going forward for this team. Unfortunately, Alex Smith (25 points) continued his MVP campaign this week with another dominating performance over a solid defense, but he was riding the bench for Zac otherwise he could have claimed victory. Week 6 pits Zac against Silly Nannies (4-1) in a game pivotal for both teams fighting for playoff position.

#5  Hernandez Hitmen (3-2) Last Week: 7 (This Week: Game Of Jones)

Hernandez Hitmen narrowly escaped the grips of Ballz Deep! (1-4) in Week 5, with a 129-118 victory in a matchup that was never really supposed to be this close. Hernandez Hitmen avoided a 3rd consecutive loss with the win, and greatly improved his chances of earning a playoff spot this season as he boosted his season record to 3-2. After some questionable trades early on in the season, Noah would have been better off holding on to a few key players, but I suppose he thought the risks would payout. Hernandez Hitmen was led in Week 5 by Will Fuller (19 points) who scored 2 TD's on two receptions, saving Hernandez Hitmen from the upset. Philip River (20 points) bounced back from an ugly start against the Giants and managed a solid outing at the QB position, while Kareem Hunt (13 points) against passed the century mark on the ground, but failed to reach the endzone. Week 6 puts Hernandez Hitmen up against Game of Jones (2-3) a team that is showing some promises as Nathan has rattled off two consecutive victories.

#6 Martellus All About It (2-3) Last Week: 9 (This Week: Juan Too Many)

Martellus All About It jumps 3 spots in this weeks KOTS Power Rankings, after a decisive victory over TFuchs (2-3) in Week 5. With the win, Logan snaps a 2 game losing streak and fights back into the mix of things just before the midway point in the season. Martellus All About It was led by two rookies who continue to impress the league thus far with their performances. First quarterback Deshaun Watson (35 points) who continues to shred defenses over the last few weeks with a potent Houston offense. The second rookie was Leonard Fournette (31 points) who torched the Steelers defense for 150+ yards on the ground and 2TD's. With the rookies running the show, Martellus All About can lean upon his veteran players to fill in the gaps as the stock for this team is increasingly rising. Week 6 will be another battle for Martellus All About It is he faces league leading Juan Too Many (4-1) in a very intriguing matchup.

#7 Gronkemon Go (2-3) Last Week: 8 (This Week: Rudy Was Offsides)

Gronkemon Go dropped another game this week, now losing two straight in a loss against 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (1-4). While Gronkemon Go continues to be one of the deepest teams in the league, the quarterback position has eluded Justin throughout the season. With Cam Newton (26 points) sitting on the bench after putting up very poor numbers early on in the season, it appears as if Newton is now back on track and ready to be an elite quarterback again. Ben Roethlisberger (2 points) threw for 5 interceptions and seems to have lost but all of his ability to be a starting quarterback in the league. With that in mind, it simply was a down week for Gronkemon Go in Week 5 as he fell 127-155. Seven on his twenty players failed to score more than 10 points, which severely diminished his chances of winning against a lowly 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One. Week 6 will be a test for Gronkemon Go when he faces Rudy Was Offsides (2-3) in a huge matchup for both teams.

#8 Rudy Was Offsides (2-3) Last Week: 5 (This Week: Gronkemon Go)

After a stock rising Week 4, Rudy Was Offsides slips to the #8 spot in this weeks KOTS Power Rankings after an embarassing 106-97 against Game Of Jones (2-3) In the loss, both Doug Martin (14 points) and John Brown (10 points) could have solidified a victory for Luke who had a number of players on BYE, but these players were never substituted in, dropping Rudy Was Offsides to 2-3 on the season. In the loss, DeAndre Hopkins (27 points) was one of the lone bright spots for Rudy Was Offsides, hauling in 3 TD's as he continues to be a league favorite for receptions in a thriving Houston offense. Week 6, puts Rudy Was Offsides against Gronkemon Go (2-3) in a put up or shut up matchup that could determine a possible playoff spot in the coming weeks.

#9 Game of Jones (2-3) Last Week: 11 (This Week: Hernandez Hitmen)

Game of Jones is on the rise after ripping off his second straight victory and improving his record to 2-3 on the season, with a great chance to bump it to .500 after Week 6. In Week 5, Game of Jones defeated Rudy Was Offsides (2-3) by a score of 106-97. In the narrow victory, Game Of Jones was led by two trade assest acquired in weeks prior. Both Kelvin Benjamin (15 points) and Javorius Allen (18 points) found the endzone in what continues to be a positive trade for Nathan. In addition to this, Kyle Rudolph (16 points) continues his dominance at the TE position and gave Game of Jones the needed boost to win this weekend. Unfortunately Brandon Marshall (Ankle) was lost for the season, Nathan will welcome back a handful of players who were on BYE, but the presence of Marshall being gone could be a factor going forward. Week 6, puts Game of Jones against Herandez Hitmen (3-2) an opportunity for Nathan to be at a level playing field once the dust settles.
#10 TFuchs (2-3) Last Week: 6 (This Week: Ballz Deep!)

TFuchs is slowly falling down the leaderboards after dropping 3 of his last five games, including a landslide loss to Martellus All About It (2-3) in Week 5. In the 164-109 loss, Joe Flacco (8 points) Todd Gurley (5 points) and Devante Parker (1 point) all failed to live up to their expectations, totaling 14 points and severely limiting TFuchs chances of pulling of a victory this week. Derek Carr (Back) is expected to return to the lineup either this week or next, and should be reinstated into the lineup to restore solid quarterback production. Chris Hogan (17 points) continues to thrive in the New England offense as Brady's #1 redzone target and will be the driving force behind this team as the weeks progress. In Week 6, TFuchs faces Ballz Deep (1-4) a very important matchup for both teams looking to get back to their winning ways.

#11 Ballz Deep! (1-4) Last Week: 10 (This Week: TFuchs)

With the high hopes of the early season quickly fading for Ballz Deep! a close loss in Week 5 severely hurts this teams chances of making a run in the 2017 KOTS Playoffs. In the loss to Hernandez Hitmen (3-2) Ballz Deep! fell by a score 118-129. A marginal difference, that could have been flipped if not for the injury to Marcus Mariota (Hamstring). Overall, the depth of Ballz Deep! held their own with 8 of the 20 starters scoring in double digit fashion, including James White (12 points) unfortunately the other 12 starters were limited to just 21 total points which cost Ballz Deep! this matchup this past weekend. With Amari Cooper (1 point) still absent from any role with the Oakland Raiders this season, look for Ballz Deep! to pick up some deep sleeper free agents in an attempt to salvage what is looking like a lost season. Week 6 puts Ballz Deep! against TFuchs (2-3) in a win or go home situation for both teams.

#12 - 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (1-4) Last Week: 12 (This Week: Team Prime)

99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One notched his first season victory in Week 5, and will look to play the role of spoiler throughout the rest of the regular season as he goes for another upset in Week 6. With a victory over Gronkemon Go (2-3) by a final score of 155-127, Juan relied heavily upon rising rookie Aaron Jones (19 points) who could be the future feature back in the Green Bay offense for years to come. Travis Kelce (17 points) continues to be a dominant factor in an explosive KC offense and Juan will have to continue to ride that wave as Tyler Eifert (Back) is now done for the season as well. I believe that makes 5 or 6 starters that Juan has lost this season due to injury. With Drew Brees (BYE) coming back this week, look for 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One to make a run for his money against Team Prime in Week 6, a few wins for Juan this season could earn him owner of the year award with the obstacles he has had to face.
