Week 5 KOTS Power Rankings

2017 KOTS Week 5 Power Rankings

After a brutal Week 4, which saw many key players go down for a number of owners, teams are now shuffling their pieces as they attempt to fix the puzzle before the mid-season arrives. Some owners stand with their head held high, either in confidence or arrogance as they choose to rely on the players they have drafted, while others are crawling into Week 5, searching the waiver wire in search of a up & coming player to change their seasons fortunes. In two weeks time, one team will be given a $20 bonus for the best record halfway through the season, something that many times are still in the running, a pivotal stretch as injuries mount up, this will prove who truly is the King of The Shack.

Power Rankings

#1 - Juan Too Many (4-0) Last Week: 1 (This Week: Silly Nannies)

Juan Too Many continues to stand alone the league standings after a Week 4 thrashing of Hernandez Hitmen, all but proving to the league that he means business this year. Juan Too Many defeated Hernandez Hitmen (2-2) by a final score of 138-119 in a matchup that had all the makings of being a close contest. Led by Jordy Nelson (23 points) and Tom Brady (20 points) Josh continues to rely on the heavy work load that these two players are getting, and in return touchdowns are pouring at an incredible rate. Both Zach Ertz (13 points) and Charles Clay (16 points) continue to be tops in PPR formats giving Juan Too Many the greatest advantage in the league right now. As Josh prepares for a showdown with Silly Nannies (3-1) the loss of Dalvin Cook (ACL) will be the biggest test yet as Juan Too Many looks to replace a promising running back.

#2 - Team Prime (3-1) Last Week: 2 (This Week: I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet)

The defending champion looked to be down, but he is never out, as Team Prime has produced two straight wins and finds himself once again nearing the top of the King Of The Shack leaderboard heading into Week 5. In Week 4, Team Prime took down Martellus All About It (1-3) by a narrow score of 122-116. After a big performance in Week 3, Russell Wilson (26 points) came through again for Team Prime as the Seahawks defeated the Colts on Sunday night. Greg Zuelein (27 points) continues to shock the fantasy world with an astounding run of 50+ yard field goals for the 3-1 LA Rams. With the health of his team looking up, its safe to say that Team Prime is in the running for another championship as the mid-point of the season draws near. With his depth at nearly every position, look for Team Prime to make a statement against I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (3-1) as they faceoff in Week 5 with alot on the line.

#3    I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (3-1) Last Week: 4 (This Week: Team Prime)

I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet, really needs to think of a new name, according to Commish Ballweg, "typing this team name every week will be the cause for early arthritis." Coming in at the #3 spot in this weeks King Of The Shack Power Rankings, I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet defeated Gronkemon Go (2-2) by a large victory 152-128. Ezekiel Elliott (29 points) continues to carry Zac in the 2017 season, while Alex Smith (26 points) continues his MVP campaign with another huge performance against the Redskins as the Chiefs move to 4-0 on the young season. Despite weak performances from Theo Riddick (1 point) and Mike Gillislee (4 points) I Can't Think Of Anything Clever yet has plenty of depth on his bench to more than make up for those points in the coming weeks. A matchup with Team Prime (3-1) in Week 5 will be a huge test for both teams as the winner will move into sole possession of second place.

#4 Silly Nannies (3-1) Last Week: 7 (This Week: Juan Too Many)

Quite possibly the biggest surprise to the 2017 King Of The Shack Fantasy Football season, Silly Nannies comes roaring into the #4 spot in this weeks Power Rankings, holding a 3-1 record with a chance to knock off the league leader in Week 5. This past week, Silly Nannies took down TFuchs by a score of 130-124, just barely getting by, but scoring enough points to continue this surprising early season run. Silly Nannies continues to be helped by big performances from LeGarrette Blount (16 points) who now has scored double digit points the last two weeks, while Aaron Rodgers (23 points) threw for 4 TD's in their win over the Bears on Thursday night. The most surprising of Week 4 however was the fact that both Michael Crabtree ( 0 points)  and Adrian Peterson (0 points) put up donuts and Jake was still able to pull out the win over Tyler. In Week 5, the league leader Juan Too Many 4-0 awaits Silly Nannies in what should be one of the more intriguing matchups this weekend.

#5 Rudy Was Offsides (2-2) Last Week: 9 (This Week: Game Of Jones)

The beast has awakened. Rudy Was Offsides jumps up to the #5 spot in this weeks King Of The Shack Power Rankings, after a win that solidified his threat to the rest of the league with multiple key players breaking out in Week 4. Rudy Was Offsides defeated Ballz Deep! (1-3) by a score of 173-122, all but silencing any doubters that had begun to question Luke's relevance this season. Le'Veon Bell (34 points) is back and looks to be ready to take on his biggest workload yet as the Steelers will rely heavily on him the rest of the season. Andrew Luck (Shoulder) has been seen practicing with the Colts, a game changing player that could turn the tables for Rudy Was Offsides this season. Lastly DeAndre Hopkins (26 points) the only fantasy receiver who has scored in double digits each game this season continues to impress the skeptics of the Houston offense. Luke will face off against Game Of Jones (1-3) in Week 5, a favorable matchup that sets Luke up for a big run as the halfway point of the season nears.

#6 TFuchs (2-2) Last Week: 3 (This Week: Martellus All About It)

TFuchs lost a close matchup against Silly Nannies (3-1) in Week 4, dropping to 2-2 on the season by a final score of 124-130. With this loss, TFuchs is not quite yet in desperation mode, but with the homestretch of the season readily approaching, some significant moves will need to be made in order for Tyler to clinch himself a playoff spot. With Derek Carr (Back) now out for multiple weeks, TFuchs will have to replace their talented QB before Week 5 begins. With Chris Hogan (17 points) and Duke Johnson (20 points) on TFuchs bench, look for these players to supplement the loss of Carr in the coming weeks, while Todd Gurley (34 points) continues to single handily keep TFuchs in matchups despite the performance of other players. Week 5 is a pivotal matchup for TFuchs, as he will face Martellus All About It (1-3) in a matchup that his massive implications for both teams.

#7 Hernandez Hitmen (2-2) Last Week: 5 (This Week: Ballz Deep!)

Two losses in a row spells trouble for what once looked like the favorite to win the regular season. As the injuries continue to pile up at the running back position with Ty Montgomery (Ribs) going down in Week 4, the value of Hernandez Hitmen's team is drastically decreasing. In his showdown with Juan Too Many (4-0) in Week 4, Hernandez Hitmen was defeated by a final score 119-138, a game that could have been much worse for Noah than the box score shows. Jay Ajayi (5 points) continues to be a mystery in the 2017 season as the Dolphins cannot get the offense going under Jay Cutler, while Brandin Cooks (6 points) continues to be an up and down player each week, frustrating Hernandez Hitmen all the more. Week 5, brings hope, Hernandez Hitmen will face off against Ballz Deep! (1-3) in the hopes of snapping the losing streak and getting back into the swing of things as the season rolls along.

#8 Gronkemon Go (2-2) Last Week: 6 (This Week: 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One)

The last of the 2-2 teams is Gronkemon Go, coming in at the #8 spot in this weeks King Of The Shack Fantasy Football Power Rankings. The pieces are there, the production is not, as a frustruating Week 4 closed, Gronkemon Go was left wondering "what if!?" after losing to I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (3-1) by a final score of 128-152. With a 123 points on his bench in Week 4, it was the case of players finally coming out to play this season, who have done nothing all year long. Cam Newton (32 points) Devin Funchess (26 points) and Bilal Powell (28 points) all had monster games this past weekend, but due to their inconsistency were left riding the pine. The bright spot in this weeks game for Gronkemon Go was Cameron Brate (18 points) who continues to rise the TE rankings and will look to have another big game in Week 5. Gronkemon Go faces off against a weak 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (0-4) team and will look to start up a new winning streak.

#9 Martellus All About It (1-3) Last Week: 8 (This Week: TFuchs)

After a hopeful start to the season, Martellus All About It has now dropped 3 of his last 4, and descends down the league standings ladders sitting in Week 5 with a 1-3 record. The season is still young, and a few victories can quickly turn things around for the up & coming talent in the KOTS Fantasy League. In Week 4, Logan dropped a close game against Team Prime, losing by a score of 116-122, just a 6 point differential. Martellus All About It was led by rookie sensation Leonard Fournette (23 points) who continues to lead an impressive Jaguars team this season. Aside from that performance, Martellus All About It was done in by poor performances from Matt Ryan (8 points) and Mohammed Sanu (1 point) both who were held in check by the Bills defense. Logan will look to turn things around in Week 5 against TFuchs, a big game for both teams as the season ramps up in the coming weeks.

#10 - Ballz Deep! (1-3) Last Week: 10 (This Week: Hernandez Hitmen)

Ballz Deep! knew the statlines coming into his Week 4 matchup with Rudy Was Offsides, the potential for a win was there, but the odds of it happening were always a long shot. Rudy Was Offsides (2-2) exploded in Week 4, taking down Ballz Deep! by a final score of 122-173. While Ballz Deep! had a fairly decent weekend compared to other teams, the cards did not fall in his favor this week for the schedule. Keenan Allen (18 points) continues to be one of the hottest PPR receivers in fantasy this season, amassing four weeks of double digit scoring and giving Ballz Deep! hope going forward. With James White (14 poitns) and Frank Gore (10 points) continuing to hold down the RB position, Ballz Deep! will look to make some moves to bolster the rest of his team if he has any hopes of making the playoffs this season. Week 5 will feature a matchup with Hernandez Hitmen (2-2), an upset that could be in the making.

#11 - Game of Jones (1-3) Last Week: 11 (This Week: Rudy Was Offsides)

Game Of Jones is on the board with a win after a Week 4 victory over 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (0-4) After a midweek trade, acquiring Kelvin Benjamin (14 points) and Javorius Allen (9 points) Game Of Jones got the needed boost to get past Juan by a final score of 117-109. With Eli Manning (27 points) and the Giants offense finally finding some life, this gives Game Of Jones some hope in the next couple of weeks, with a chance to move up the league standings. Julio Jones (Hip) should be able to rest during his BYE week this weekend, an assest that Nathan will have to replace when he faces off against Rudy Was Offsides (2-2) in Week 5.

#12 - 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (0-4) Last Week: 12 (This Week: Gronkemon Go)

Things could be worse for 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One, but not really. A humiliating loss in Week 4, keeps Juan win-less this season, and the odds were certainly in his favor this weekend, but a few mediocre performances really did him in in the 109-117 loss to Game Of Jones. Marshawn Lynch (1 point)  was held in check by a ferocious Denver defense, and will hope to make a difference in Week 5, with Derek Carr now out for a few weeks. Antonio Brown (7 points) seems to be lost with a dying Ben Roethlisberger at QB and the sideline incidents could be a cause for concern going forward. With Travis Kelce (24 points) getting back into the flow of the Kansas City Offense, he continues to be the lone bright spot for a 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One team that will be in danger of dropping 5 straight in Week 5 when Juan faces off against Gronkemon Go.
