Week 10 KOTS Power Rankings

2017 KOTS Week 10 Power Rankings
With Week 9 of the King Of The Shack Fantasy Football League wrapping up, team owners are calling meetings and developing new strategies with Week 10 now upon us. This past weekend featured some major upsets, most likely costing some teams a playoff spot, while giving valuable life to those still holding on. Week 9 saw a 1-7 team in 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One, upset Martellus All About It, in what was arguably the best game of the weekend. Looking ahead with Team Prime becoming the first team in the league to clinch a playoff spot, with a terrific 8-1 record, it will now be on the other 11 teams to fight for the remaining 5 spots. With just 4 weeks before the start of the KOTS playoffs, each win now is more important than ever. Who's In?!
Week 9: Recap Statistics
Most Points Scored: Team Prime: 178 total points scored
Least Points Scored: Juan Too Many: 95 total points scored
Largest Margin of Victory: Gronkemon Go: +53 points
Smallest Margin of Victory: 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One: +3 points

Power Rankings
#1 - Team Prime (8-1) Last Week: 1 (This Week: Game Of Jones)

With Team Prime having a few key players out this week, including Melvin Gordon (BYE) and Pierre Garcon (Neck), the Week 9 matchup with Ballz Deep! (3-6) was poised to be a very interesting one. However, Team Prime dominated the matchup, crushing Matt by a final score of 178-136 and improving his overall record to 8-1 on the season and securing himself a lock in the 2017 KOTS Playoffs. Alvin Kamara (31 points) is ready to take over the Saints backfield with TD's through both the air and the ground, while Marvin Jones (29 points) hauled in 2 receiving touchdowns in Detroits victory over Green Bay, Monday night. Russell Wilson (22 points) continues his hot hand at QB despite a Seahawks loss and will continue to be a factor going forward. Team Prime is the outright favorite to repeat as the King Of The Shack Champion in 2017. Week 10 will feature a matchup with Game of Jones (3-6) in what could be his 8th straight victory.

#2 Hernandez Hitmen (6-3) Last Week: 4 (This Week: Martellus All About It)

Hernandez Hitmen, another team with some key players on bye in Week 9, faced arguably one of the most pivotal matchups of this season with a showdown against Silly Nannies (6-3). Led by a surprise output by Marqise Lee (21 points) Hernandez Hitmen took down Nannies by a score of 137-114, a high stakes matchup that now brings Noah into a tie for second place in the league. Golden Tate (18 points) sealed the deal on Monday Night Football with 7 receptions for 113 yards, while Jay Ajayi (13 points) finally found the endzone this season and should be a solid play each week going forward. With four weeks to go in the regular season, Hernandez Hitmen will attempt to continue to climb the league standings and secure himself a playoff bid. This will continue in Week 10 with another solid matchup with Martellus All About It (4-5) who will be looking to win his third straight game.

#3 Silly Nannies (6-3) Last Week: 2 (This Week: Gronkemon Go)

Silly Nannies suffered his second straight defeat in Week 9, and is in danger of dropping three in a row with a tough upcoming matchup in Week 10. To wrap up the Week 9 matchup, Silly Nannies faced Hernandez Hitmen (6-3) in a battle for second place in the league. Jake fell by a final score of 114-137 and is really showing the signs of missing his quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Collarbone). In the loss, Brett Hundley (17 points) turned in an improved performance from a week ago, but still could not find a touchdown connection with any receivers on the Packers. Will Silly Nannies remain with the backup replacement, or make a move for an established veterean? The question looms. Adrian Peterson (16 points) was unable to find the endzone in his favorable matchup with the 49ers, but did manage to put up 150+ rushing yards and looks to have a very promising role in the Cardinals offense as they will ride the veteran for everything that he has left in the tank. Silly Nannies will welcome back a few players off bye in Week 10 when he faces Gronkemon Go, who also is seeking his third straight win. Look for a very tight matchup which could determine a valuable playoff position.

#4 I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (6-3) Last Week: 5 (This Week: Ballz Deep!)

This team is about as hot as it gets with Ezekiel Elliott (15 points) continuing to run wild over defenses for the third straight week. I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet narrowly defeated Game Of Jones (3-6) in Week 9 by a close score of 111-103, giving Zac his third victory in as many weeks and has now jumped into a tie for second place in the standings. In the victory over Nathan, Zac got a huge output off the waiver wire from Kenyan Drake (16 points) who filled the role of Jay Ajayi in Miami and put forth a solid effort on the ground and through the air. This could be a huge link to I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet's success as the playoffs approach. Both Jimmy Graham (10 points) and Ben Watson (11 points) helped out in a big way at the tight end position, giving Zac a very lucky win as Game Of Jones could have won the matchup if he had played the correct defense. Looking ahead, I Can't Think Of Anything Clever yet will face Ballz Deep! (3-6) this week in hopes of a 4th straight win, but a reeling Ballz Deep! team could have something to stay about that.

#5 Juan Too Many (5-4) Last Week: 3 (This Week: 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One)

With three losses in a row, no one is feeling the effect of the Aaron Rodgers injury more than Juan Too Many. Week 9 looked promising, but after poor efforts all around, Josh fell against Grokemon Go in a decisive matchup, losing 148-95. With a playoff spot suddenly becoming uncertain, Juan Too Many will have to get this ship headed in the right direction if he wants another shot at the title this year. Mike Evans (2 points) will be suspended in Week 10, adding insult to injury to his poor performance in Week 9, while Zach Ertz (Hamstring) suddenly was taken out of the starting lineup due to injury. This drastically hurt Juan Too Many's chances of winning, while Rishard Matthews (17 points) was the only bright spot this weekend and could be the feature wide receiver on this team going forward. Week 10 brings hope to Juan Too Many as he faces off against 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One. This could be the break Josh has been waiting for.

#6 Gronkemon Go (4-5) Last Week: 7 (This Week: Silly Nannies)

Gronkemon Go is climbing up the league standings, and doing it quickly, a few weeks ago, the playoffs were in question, and now after two straight victories, Gronkemon Go is now in line for not only a playoff spot, but could climb even higher before seasons end. In his Week 9 upset over Juan Too Many (5-4). Gronkemon Go relied on a balanced effort from his team, led by Carlos Hyde (21 points) and Demaryius Thomas (21 points) both whom had big games through the air. This helped propel Gronkemon Go to a huge 148-95 win over Juan Too Many and an added boost of confidence heading into his Week 10 matchup with Silly Nannies (6-3) With Dez Bryant (Ankle) in question for the upcoming weekend, Gronkemon Go will welcome back Jordan Howard (BYE) to fill the void and continue on in his winning ways. A week this weekend could shift all the pieces in the upcoming playoff bracket, and exciting underdog to watch.

#7   Martellus All About It (4-5) Last Week: 8 (This Week: Hernandez Hitmen)

In the Game Of The Week in Week 9, Martellus All About It showed grit and determination, defeating Rudy Was Offsides (4-5) in their matchup and getting a much needed victory to boost this teams chances of making the playoffs. In the 120-104 win over Luke, Martellus All About It leaned on hot and cold superstar T.Y Hilton (34 points) who caught 5 passes for over 170+ yards and 2 TD's. This performance was exactly what Logan needed in Week 9 to get past a pesky Rudy Was Offsides team. In addition to Hilton, Jarvis Landry (15 points) got back on track with Jay Cutler against the Raiders and caught his 6th touchdown of the season. With Deshaun Watson (ACL) now out for the rest of the season, this team takes a big hit, but could find a way to respond if Logan is able to manage this team to perfection down the stretch. Week 10 will be a tough matchup against Hernandez Hitmen (6-3). This will be the teams first time meeting in league history and could be a historic rivalry in the making.

#8 Rudy Was Offsides (4-5) Last Week: 6 (This Week: TFuchs)

Finding himself in a three way tie for the 6th and final playoff spot, Rudy Was Offsides needed nothing more than a victory in Week 9 to move up in the league standings and secure that last spot. Unfortunately for Luke, a 104-120 defeat was waiting this weekend for him as Martellus All About It (4-5) got the upper-hand in this matchup. There was very little that Rudy Was Offsides could do as Le'Veon Bell (BYE) was out this week, along with Jordan Reed (Hamstring) being inactive as well. Dak Prescott (26 points) led the way for Rudy Was Offsides and should be a big dual-threat factor coming down the stretch but it was not enough as Devonta Freeman (9 points) only managed 46 yards on the ground in a disappointing Falcons offense. In Week 10, another huge matchup awaits Rudy Was Offsides. TFuchs (3-6) will be waiting and ready to pounce, as the winner of this game will most likely have a shot at the final playoff spot, while the loser can begin thinking about next years season.

#9 TFuchs (3-6) Last Week: 10 (This Week: Rudy Was Offsides)

TFuchs caught 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (2-7) on a surprisingly high scoring weekend for Juan, who took the 3 point victory over Tyler by a final score of 140-137. TFuchs drew an un-lucky card in this one, as his total score would have beaten 8 out of the other 10 teams, but he just so happened to face Juan of all the weeks. Ed Dickson (0 points) was the deciding factor, as Tyler could not have started a better roster this week but it was the goose-egg of Dickson that brought defeat down on TFuchs' head. Doug Baldwin (23 points) and Todd Gurley (23 points) both play their parts and continue to heat up in surprisingly explosive offenses this season, while Joe Mixon (13 points) found the endzone and could be a sneaky play going forward. Week 10 will be monumental for TFuchs. He will have to essentially win out this rest of the season if he wants a shot at the final playoff spot, but will have to take it one week at a time beginning with a matchup with Rudy Was Offsides (4-5)
#10 Game Of Jones (3-6) Last Week: 9 (This Week: Team Prime)

Game Of Jones was done in by a few performances in Week 9, which cost the upset-minded team led by Nathan to fall short in their matchup with I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (6-3). The 111-103 loss drops Game Of Jones to 3-6 on the year and with a tough matchup coming up in Week 10, it could be the end for Nathan's hopes of making the 2017 KOTS Playoffs this year. He will have to pull the upset this week to keep his hopes alive. Kirk Cousins (8 points) was shut down by the Seahawks defense with now two very disappointing performances, and Julio Jones (17 points) despite having a solid day, dropped two wide open touchdown passes in the endzone to really hurt Game Of Jones' chances of winning. With Kelvin Benjamin (Trade) likely making his debut in Week 10, look for Game Of Jones to make a run at the upset in his upcoming game with Team Prime (8-1). Goodluck!

#11 - Ballz Deep! (3-6) Last Week: 11 (This Week: I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet)

Ballz Deep! had one of his highest scoring weekends of the regular season, unfortunately he drew Team Prime (8-1) in Week 9, who absolutely went off again, hurting Ballz Deep!'s chances of making the playoffs this season. While the hope is still somewhat alive, Matt will have to win out and have a bit of luck to make it into the 2017 KOTS Playoffs. In the 136-178 defeat to Team Prime, Ballz Deep! received some great performances from Alshon Jeffery (26 points) and Jared Cook (20 points) both who took advantage through the air with over 80+ receiving yards and a few scores as well. Tedd Ginn Jr. (15 points) but up another solid weekend and is trending upwards in leagues all over the world as an elite burner on the Saints offense. In Week 10, Ballz Deep! draws another tough matchup with I Can't Think Of Anything Clever Yet (6-3). If there was ever a time for an upset, now would be it and I think we can all smell it in the air.

#12 - 99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One (2-7) Last Week: 12 (This Week: Juan Too Many)

99 Problems But A Lynch Ain't One could end the season with 6 total wins on the year if he wins out, if the bottom half of the league continues to lose, the playoffs aren't necessarily out of the question with that 1% still hanging in the balance, but the odds are unlikely. In Week 9, Juan came from behind and stole a victory away from TFuchs, winning by a final score of 140-137 due in large part to Ameer Abdullah (10 points) who found the endzone monday night and got just enough yards to help Juan find paydirt. With Jared Goff (28 points) proving to be the find of the week on waivers, Juan could have found a solid play going forward, but the consistency is still in question. One thing is for certain, Travis Kelce (20 points) is a man among boys at the playoff position and dominated again through the air with 70+ receiving yards and a touchdown. We will see how the rest of the season plays out for Juan, as he plays spoiler in Week 10 against a shaky Juan Too Many (5-4) team who is hanging on for dear life.
